Dawn and I had a great time dancing to three live swing bands at the Dance Flurry this past weekend. We love seeing our swing dance friends from around the Northeast here in our home town.
If you are interested in a dance weekend full of new surprises and experiences you must attend the Dance Flurry.
It’s live music all weekend even during the hundreds of dance lessons. Dancers love it, musicians love it and it keep the traditions of many historical dances alive for new generations to enjoy!

West Coast Swing dancing late night New Year’s Eve 2012
Swing dance events are great places to connect with your creativity and meet women who are healthy, beautiful and creative. I met my wife at a swing dance. Here is a short video of a west coast swing dance event near Boston, MA.
It is 2 a.m. and the pro dancers are out dancing with everyone else. It is a real treat to dance with the pros. In this video you will see Lemery Rollins, one of the top west coast swing dancers in the U.S. Enjoy!
Ballroom Social Albany area ballroom dances
Hello and welcome to Ballroom Social for the week of April 16, 2012.
I’m your host Dancin’ David from Want Romance Learn to Dance.com
Albany area dancers enjoyed some great dancing this past weekend.
Here are some clips from the Adirondack USA dance in Glens Falls. In the first clip you’ll see Jan Holik teaching the hustle to about 50 dancers.
Next you’ll see the dancers dancing the hustle as the dance gets underway. Almost of the local ballroom dances have free or low cost lessons before each dance.
If you live in the Glens Falls area, please check out the Adirondack USA dance chapter. They host social ballroom dances twice a month.
Every third Sunday of the month is the Albany USA Dance. This month I was invited to teach, DJ and demo.
In this first clip you’ll see the large group of dancers dancing the Merengue, a fun fast Latin dance.
Next you’ll see a mixer. This is where we make two lines, a line of leaders and a line of followers. They meet in the middle dance down the dance floor and get back in line to get a new partner.
Mixers help build community because you get to dance with someone you may not have already danced with.
The last clip of this episode is a lead and follow west coast swing demonstration that I did with my friend Joy Gillard. This is a non–choreographed fun and entertaining social dance.
Well that does it for this week’s episode of ballroom social. For a full list of Ballroom dances around Albany, NY click here.
Dawn and I are headed to Myrtle Beach for the national shag dance weekend. Look forward to some video from the beach in our next episode and please visit http://www.wantromancelearntodance.com/ to check out my book and dvd that teaches you the basic of social ballroom dancing in the comfort of your own home.
Until next time, I’m Dancin’ David, What time is it?…it’s DANCIN’ TIME!!!.
